Start Potty Training!

The really important thing to remember, as with many milestones for our children, is that toddlers are ready to be potty trained at different times. Please don’t try and do it because a friend is doing it with their child,or you feel pressure to. Potty training should be done only when your child is ready otherwise it will only make both of you miserable and go through unnecessary hurdles. Here are some tips I have put together that will hopefully take the mystery out of Potty training but remember as with all of these things, it’s a process, face it with smiles and enthusiasm, not stress and pressure…who likes to go to the potty after all in a stressful situation!

Potty training often happens sometime before a child’s third birthday although some do wait a little later than this. In my own personal experience we potty trained my eldest son literally days before his third birthday. He was ready, it wasn’t stressful and I am so glad I didn’t try and push him to do it earlier.

1. If you think your toddler is getting ready to be potty trained this Book is the only tool you really need to teach and learn about the easiest way to potty train. This book Start Potty Training is how i got all my knowledge about potty training and it has everything u need to know. plus excellent fun ways for your kids to learn with you. The more u know the better cause it might take more then one way to train your kid and this book has the ways. This book is more then enough knowledge to train your kid and it has worked for everyone that has used it. Before u even try these other steps I would try the book to save money and time. Start Potty Training It won't let u down.

2. Buy a toddler toilet seat to attach to your toilet seat or purchase a free standing potty. You’ll have to work with you toddler to see what they prefer. Let you toddler be involved if you can in picking out the new seat or potty so they are excited about it. I got all I needed for potty training here.

3. Also, if you can shop for some fun “big girl”or “big boy”underwear. My son loved the ones with the days of the week on them but others love their favorite action hero or color.

4. Figure out a reward system, be it praise or a sticker chart. All kids are different so do what works best for your child and your parenting style. Remember though, never scold them if they have an accident and don’t get to the potty on time. Just tell them accidents happen and not to worry and next time we’ll try and get to the potty. Making a big deal about this will only increase their anxiety and delay the process.

5. Find a time when you can commit to really focusing on it for at least 2 full days. Put your wee one in underwear and at-shirt. Go to the potty every 30 minutes or every hour and make sure to ask them between these times if they need to use the potty. This is great to do on a weekend, just plan on being home, as outings can make this hard to accomplish

6. Sometimes children are not completely sure where to stand. We put a box in front of the toilet to help them to climb up and drew around my eldest son’s feet so he could see where to place them. This seemed to take the anxiety out of the preparation for him.

7. If you have a boy and he is having trouble aiming, you can throw a few cheerios into the toilet bowl and tell him to aim for them.

8. It is important to remember that toddler’s learn by watching. If you have boy consider letting Daddy show him how he uses the toilet and vice-verse if you have a girl. Don’t be embarrassed, we all use the potty and it is important for them to see how it is done.

9. Never go back. Once you start down the potty training road, don’t go back to diapers. Keep your toddler in underpants and be prepared with back-up clothes in case of a few accidents. The perseverance will pay off.

10. Lots of parents (including myself) still use pull-ups for night time and while traveling for many toddlers as night time training can take longer and traveling can be tricky, especially if you are stuck in a car between rest stops.

Most importantly, stay positive and proud, this is a huge milestone for your wee one and you should be there every step of the way to help them make this transition. Good luck!

Interview With A World Renowned Potty Training Expert.

Interview With A World Renowned
Potty Training Expert.
Today I had  pleasure to speak with a world renowned potty training expert by the name of Carol Cline. Her claim to fame started when she stumbled upon a method that will have almost any child potty trained and diaper free, in just 3 days flat. To date she has helped thousands upon thousands of parents. and here was some of the advice she had to share with me today:
Me: Hi Carol, thanks for taking the time with me here today.
Carol: Glad to make the time! Hope I can help answer all your hard hitting potty training questions and help some parents along the way.
Me: So, let me come right out and ask! Did you ever think that one day you'd be the world authority on all things potty training?
Carol: I wish I could tell you that I knew this was my calling the second I sat on my very first potty, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I actually went to school for business and owning my own daycare was always the life long goal for me.
Me: Thats fantastic! So this interview will be going out to lots of parents who are right now just about to start potty training. What one word would you use to describe the entire potty training process?
Carol: Well let me break the rules and sum it up in two; “Buckle Down”
Me: Oh boy! I’m sure parents love hearing that lol. Can you tell me exactly what you mean by “buckle down”?
Carol: Well i’m sure some parents would expect me to say “Run for your life” while secretly hoping I’d say “Don't worry about it, its easy!”. The truth is that potty training is different for every child and it will be just as challenging as it is rewarding when all is said and done.
Me: So what would you say  a parents very first step should be going into potty training if they want fast results?
Carol: The first thing I always tell parents is to remember P.P.C! That stands for always being “Positive, Persistent and Consistent”. They are the three pillars that make potty training stand, remove one and the entire thing falls to the ground.
Me: I know for a fact with my own child, being positive all the way through was a big part of it.
Carol: Children can sense if you’re truly happy or not. Simply put - If you’re not happy training them, they wont be happy learning from you.
Me: There is an age old debate on the topic of potty training when it comes to boys verses girls. Is it a fact that girls are easier to train than boys?
Carol: Now this is a question I honestly get asked a lot and the truth might just surprise you. Boys and girls are exactly the same to potty train! This myth started due to the basic fact that typically in the past, women would be the ones responsible for potty train the child.
Typically  women feel more comfortable potty training their daughters simply because they can relate better to them. In reality, you potty train a boy the exact same way you would a girl - There is no difference.
Me: Now you literally “wrote the book” on how to potty train. If parents pick up your guide can they really have a diaper free child in three days?
Carol: Now let me say that if your child is 16 months you cant honestly expect more like a few weeks. But nearly every parent with a child around the age of two (give or take a month or two) who shows signs that they are read... CAN in fact be trained in just three days... Sometimes even less!
Me: What is the shortest time someone has ever potty trained their child using the methods in your guide?
Carol: I once had a women read my guide at 7 AM and emailed me that day at 3:40PM telling me their child has gone to the potty all day long on his own! So eight hours and forty minutes to answer your question exactly! lol
Me: An email like that must have felt nice?
Carol: As crazy as it sound. Helping parents potty train their children has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Me: So if parents want to experience potty training their child in three days, where can find out more about your method?
Carol: They can visit my website! It’s the only place they will find out exactly how I came up with my personal method and get their hands on a copy for themselves. (Click Here To Visit Carol Cline’s Site)
Me: Well, thank you very much for your time with me here today Carol.
Carol: Any time!
